Daisy and Crunch have been out of their chrysalises for a few days and feeding on sugar water and oranges. They have been exercising their wings and flying around inside the net so we decided it was time to let them out to explore the world. While we were saying goodbye to them we were amazed to watch another butterfly emerge from its chrysalis. Its wings were all folded and it had to push a red liquid through them to make them straighten out. We watched our two butterflies fly away so watch out for Painted Lady butterflies in Annaghmore! Poppy and Munch chose not to fly away so we placed them back inside the net since their wings are not strong enough yet. We have been excited to watch the incredible metamorphosis of a caterpillar and marvel at the intricate designs and beauty of a butterfly.
