Debbie DooLittle’s Wildlife Visit

21st Oct 2025
We were so excited today to meet animals from Debbie’s rescue centre and learn about their stories and the important work she does. We also learned facts about woodland animals. Abbie the ferret and Toffee the rabbit were abandoned pets. Abbie made us laugh by crawling up Debbie’s arm and round the back of her jacket. She was very cheeky so we gave her a tickle! Rocky the hedgehog was found in a quarry. Sadly he is blind and will always stay at Debbie’s centre. He thinks frogs are a delicious treat! He felt comfortable in nursery so he came out of his ball and kept his spines down. We thought he felt like a hairbrush! Joe the owl was grumpy at being woken out of his sleep. We learned that owls can turn their heads all the way round, can see in the dark, fly silently and have excellent hearing. Lastly, we met Mr Bear who was found as a three day old fox cub. Debbie really appreciated all the kind donations to help with the animals.
