Farm Day

24th Apr 2026
We had such a wonderful day! In Forest School we listened to story telling about some naughty sheep who had escaped the farmer’s field and we went on a hunt to find them and bring them back. We really enjoyed looking round the tractors, and the size of the harvester was impressive. Some of the children are very good at knowing the different types of tractors and machines and it was very exciting to have them at school. Thank you to Miss Leonard for teaching us some line dancing on the MUGA. We also appreciated Claire from BlackBerry Farm visiting us with her lovely farm animals. We learned that the colour of the chicks determines the colour the feathers are when they grow up into hens and roosters. Blossom the rabbit was so soft and fluffy and it was lovely to pet and feed the kid. The big goat just loved being brushed as he relaxed in the sun! We joined our friends in the primary school to learn about keeping safe on the farm. Our day concluded with s’mores and singing round a campfire.
