When using a magnifying glass to observe flowers, we have been amazed at the variety and beauty of colours and various shapes, sizes and amount of petals. Our fine motor skills and arm and hand strength have been used to remove petals, crush them with a mortar and pestle and then sieve the water from the petals after being steeped in hot water overnight. We filled bottles with our perfume and thought of names and prices. We role played buying and selling it in the perfume shop. ‘Rainbow Sparkles’ was very expensive, costing ‘one hundred, one thousand and two’ (not sure of the currency!) Maybe one for a very special occasion!
